LiveDepoRelay

LiveDepoRelay allows you to connect a computer to a LocalRealtime session, and then connect a third party litigation software program (i.e. Bridge, CaseViewNet, etc.)

Install LiveDepoRelay only on the computer being used to view the session.

Wi-Fi

  • Select the LIVEDEPO network from the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
  • Enter the password "deposition" (no quotes).
  • Note: You may see 'Limited' or 'No Internet Access', this is normal.

Connect to Local Session

  • Open LiveDepoRelay and Click 'Local'

  • The stenographer will provide the necessary Realtime IP Address and Password.
  • Click 'Connect'

  • A COM port will be given, ie. COM 21 or COM 9.
  • Open your Realtime viewing software (i.e. LiveNote, Bridge, CaseviewNet, Summation, etc.) and connect to the COM Port as shown by LiveDepoRelay.
  • The stenographer should indicate which BAUD rate will be used, generally: 2400 for Caseview, or 38400 for Bridge.


Litigation Software Setup (Local)

Once you have connected LiveDepoRelay to the Local session, open your litigation viewer and connect.

Select your software from the list below for setup instructions:

  • Click Setup.

  • Choose the correct Protocol, COM Port, and BAUD Rate.
  • Example: Bridge, COM 9, 38400 (typical)

  • Click Connect.

  • Begin writing and Bridge will display the transcript:

  • Choose Direct (Serial).
  • Click Next.

  • Choose the COM Port and set the Baud Rate.
  • Example: COM 9, 2400.

  • Begin writing and CaseViewNet will display the transcript.

  • Click File > New > Realtime Transcript.

  • Choose Serial connection.
  • Set the CAT Output, BAUD Rate, and COM Port.
  • Example: Bridge, 38400, COM 9.

  • Begin writing and Westlaw CaseNotebook will display the transcript:

  • Click Transcript > Connect.

Connecting LiveDepoRelay to a Remote deposition over the Internet.

  • Connect your computer to the Internet via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, ensuring a quality connection.
  • Open LiveDepoRelay and Click 'Remote'

  • Enter Your Name and Your Key as provided in your deposition e-mail invitation.
  • Click 'Connect'

  • A COM port will be given, ie. COM 21 or COM 9.
  • Open your Realtime viewing software (i.e. LiveNote, Bridge, CaseviewNet, Summation, etc.) and connect to the COM Port as shown by LiveDepoRelay.
  • The stenographer should indicate which BAUD rate will be used, generally: 2400 for Caseview, or 38400 for Bridge.

Litigation Software Setup (Remote)

Once you have connected LiveDepoRelay to the Remote session, open your litigation viewer and connect.
